Day 201
Infinite Variety
6 Safar 1448
الْمُصَوَّرُ
Al-Muṣawwir — The Fashioner
وَمِنَ الْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌ بِيضٌ وَحُمْرٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهَا وَغَرَابِيبُ سُودٌ
Hast thou not seen that Allah causeth water to fall from the sky, and We produce therewith fruit of divers hues; and among the hills are streaks white and red, of divers hues, and (others) raven-black
Surah Fāṭir (35:27)
Intention
Today, I will notice the variety in creation — different leaves, different clouds, different faces — and see the artistry of Al-Muṣawwir.
Reflection
Al-Muṣawwir at cosmic scale fashioned not one form but infinite forms — snowflakes that never repeat, fingerprints that never duplicate, faces that are never identical. The variety of creation is not an accident; it is a deliberate artistic choice by Al-Muṣawwir. He could have made one flower; He made 400,000 species. He could have made one bird; He made 10,000 species. The sheer exuberance of creation is His signature.
On this verse
Even mountains have variety — white, red, and jet black. Al-Muṣawwir paints with an infinite palette.
Du'a
اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا حَسَّنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي
O Allah, just as You made my outward form beautiful, make my character beautiful.
Musnad Aḥmad 3823, graded ṣaḥīḥ by Al-Albānī
Linking outer beauty (His work) with inner beauty (your work). Both are fashioned — but the inner is your responsibility.
Hadith
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty.'
— Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 91
