Day 326

Sustained by Grace

12 Jumada al-Thani 1448

الْمُقِيتُ

Al-MuqītThe Sustainer

وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّقِيتًا

Whoso interveneth in a good cause will have the reward thereof, and whoso interveneth in an evil cause will bear the consequence thereof. Allah overseeth all things

Surah An-Nisāʾ (4:85)

Intention

Today, I will pause and thank Al-Muqīt for sustaining me — not just through this day, but through this entire year.

Reflection

Al-Muqīt integrated: you have been sustained through 326 days. Not by your own strength. Not by your discipline. By His grace. Al-Muqīt sustained your heartbeat, your faith, your desire to keep reading, your willingness to keep trying. The integrated life acknowledges this daily: I am sustained by grace, not by effort.

On this verse

Over all things — including your reading of this page right now. He is sustaining you through it.

Du'a

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

O Allah, I ask You for wellbeing in this world and the next.

Sunan Ibn Mājah 3871, graded ṣaḥīḥ

ʿĀfiyah — the du'a the Prophet (peace be upon him) made more than almost any other.

Hadith

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Ask Allah for ʿāfiyah, for no one has been given anything after certainty better than wellbeing.'

Sunan at-Tirmidhī 3558, graded ṣaḥīḥ
