Day 58
Creating from Nothing
10 Ramadan 1447
الْمُبْدِئُ
Al-Mubdiʼ — The Originator
إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth
Surah Al-Burūj (85:13)
Intention
Today, I will begin one new thing — however small — as an act of trust in the One who begins all things.
Reflection
Al-Mubdi’ is The Originator — the One who creates without precedent, without model, without prototype. When Al-Mubdi’ made you, there was no earlier version to iterate from. You are an original. Your life, your path, your specific combination of gifts and struggles — none of it existed before. Al-Mubdi’ began something in you that had never been begun.
On this verse
Originates and restores. He does both. He makes new things, and He remakes broken things. Whichever you need today — a fresh start or a restoration — this verse holds it.
Du'a
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ أَمْرِي فَرَجًا وَمَخْرَجًا
Then, when they have reached their term, take them back in kindness or part from them in kindness, and call to witness two just men among you, and keep your testimony upright for Allah. Whoso believeth in Allah and the Last Day is exhorted to act thus. And whosoever keepeth his duty to Allah, Allah will appoint a way out for him, And will provide for him from (a quarter) whence he hath no expectation. And whosoever putteth his trust in Allah, He will suffice him. Lo! Allah bringeth His command to pass. Allah hath set a measure for all things
Derived from Surah Aṭ-Ṭalāq (65:2–3)
When the current path feels blocked, Al-Mubdi’ can create a new one. He is not limited by the existing map.
Hadith
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Take advantage of five before five: your youth before old age, your health before sickness, your wealth before poverty, your free time before busyness, and your life before death.”
— Al-Mustadrak 7846 (graded ṣaḥīḥ by al-Albānī)
