الْقَابِضُ

Al-Qābiḍ — The Constrictor

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُزْجِي سَحَابًا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيْنَهُ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ رُكَامًا فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَالِهِ

Hast thou not seen how Allah wafteth the clouds, then gathereth them, then maketh them layers, and thou seest the rain come forth from between them; He sendeth down from the heaven mountains wherein is hail, and smiteth therewith whom He will, and averteth it from whom He will. The flashing of His lightning all but snatcheth away the sight

Intention

Today, if I experience a contraction — a loss, a tightening, a closing — I will trust that expansion follows.

Reflection

Al-Qābiḍ at cosmic scale contracts: stars collapse into white dwarfs, black holes contract space-time itself, winter contracts the earth before spring expands it. Contraction is not destruction — it is concentration. The seed contracts into the soil before it explodes into a tree. The night contracts the light before dawn returns it. Every cosmic contraction is followed by expansion. This is the rhythm of Al-Qābiḍ.

The water cycle described with precision — gathering, compressing, raining. Cosmic contraction producing life-giving expansion.

Du'a

The ultimate acceptance of Al-Qābiḍ's rhythm — what He gives and what He withholds are both perfect.

Hadith
